Lindenberg Racing will kick off its 49th competitive season in motorsport, when the 2026 campaign gets underway at Passion for Speed at Zwartkops Raceway on 30 & 31 January, marking the first step in what promises to be a demanding and high-octane year on the national Historics and Alternative motorsport calendar.
Fresh off a winning 2025 season, the team enters the new year firmly in contention to extend one of South African motorsport’s most successful legacies. With an extensive race calendar ahead, the opening round at Zwartkops sets the tone for a fast-starting campaign, as Lindenberg Racing heads straight into the second round at Red Star Raceway the following weekend. James Temple, Djurk Venter and Alistair Simpson will be eager to make an immediate impact, while Paige Lindenberg is set to return to the grid later in the season after welcoming her first child in a couple of months time.
Few people truly understand the level of commitment, hard work and sacrifice required to run a successful race team, let alone one that has been competing, and winning, for nearly five decades,” says Lindenberg Racing Team Principal, Chiara Temple. “With the introduction of the new national championship for historic racing cars, we are excited to race at more of South Africa’s iconic circuits, as well as beyond our borders, in Maputo.”
As Lindenberg Racing prepares to go wheel-to-wheel once more, 2026 also signals a season of evolution off the track. The team proudly welcomes AutoZone, Tork Craft and OEM partner Changan as new partners, strengthening its commercial platform and operational capabilities, as it embarks on another year in competition.
“I’m proud to welcome back our long-term partners, including SABAT Batteries, who will celebrate 40 years with Lindenberg Racing in 2026, while also embracing our new partners as they enter the world of competitive motorsport alongside us,” Temple adds. “It is a big year ahead as we build towards our 50th anniversary season. Here we go. Chapter 49 starts now,” she concludes.
The Passion for Speed season opener at Zwartkops on 31 January marks the beginning of another chapter in Lindenberg Racing’s enduring presence at the forefront of South African motorsport.
